This heavy duty model is based on the popular A06 Freedom Chair and can accommodate up to 25 stone/160kg. The chair is equipped with twin 300 watt motors that can push you forward at speeds up to 4mph with the ability to travel up to 9 miles from a single battery (a second battery can be added).
It's lightweight, foldable and compact when not in use so it is easy to move and to store. It's ideal for people who travel via cruise ship, car or plane with their chairs as it can easily fit into the cabin. It also comes with an airline-approved lithium-ion battery and adaptor for off-board charge.
The powerchair can be controlled with the joystick that is mounted on either armrest. It is able to be used either left- or right-handed. The foot plate can be raised to allow easy user transfers, and the tyres are 12" all-terrain PU, so it is able to conquer more challenging terrain.
There's plenty of room for personal items to be stored in the handy pouch under the seat and the zippered pockets that are fixed on the seatback. There are electric powered wheelchairs and electromagnetic brakes to increase user safety.
The Freedom A06L is maneuverable and smaller than a mobility scooter, so it is able to maneuver through tight spaces such as shopping centres or lifts. It can climb gradients up to 8%. An optional kerb climber is available so you can traverse an incline or ramp without assistance. This more powerful configuration means that the powerchair is able to support a maximum weight of 25 stone (160kg). It also has the top speed of 6.5 km/h (4 mph). The tyres made of PU in this model are larger, making it more suitable for rocky terrains. The control system uses electromagnetic braking, which makes it very easy to slow down and stop.
Apart from being a sturdy chair, this model is extremely easy to fold and use. It is ideal for those who travel regularly with their electric wheelchair, because it folds down to the smallest size then wheeled using the backrest as an handle. The anti-tip wheels make it much easier to maneuver and the powerchair is easily placed into the boot or hold of a vehicle.
The powerchair can support up to 25 stone when fully open. It comes with an adjustable seat that measures 17" wide by 17" deep for comfort and stability. There is a choice of different positioning and support options which can be adapted to meet your individual requirements. all components are constructed of top-quality materials to ensure durability.
